John Kuegeler is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and composer living in Cleveland Heights. He is a graduate from the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University and has worked as a performer and educator in Cleveland, Arizona, and in the San Francisco Bay area. John plays professionally as a trumpet player with his jazz trio and with various groups including Sammy DeLeone and his Orchestra. He is an avid percussionist with a keen interest in African based music. He performed with the Kent State African Ensemble while studying in college and has kept a consistent foot in the music since. John has found percussion to be a useful teaching tool when working with new music learners. Mr. Kuegeler has incorporated percussion and world culture in artist-in-residence workshops taught through organizations such as Young Audiences of North East Ohio, Roots of American Music, and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
