The Cedar Fairmount Public Art & Design
Project is commissioning three individuals and
teams to present proposals for streetscape art and
design elements for a site defined by the intersection
of Cedar Road and Fairmount Boulevard in Cleveland
Heights, Ohio.
A panel comprised of 2 arts professionals and 5
representatives of stakeholder organizations made the
selection.
Nineteen teams and individuals responded to a request
for credentials. The materials were submitted by
sculptors, architects, urban planners, painters, and
others. The panel is please to announce the following
selections:
Irina Koukhanova, Assistant Professor of Art in
Sculpture at Cleveland State University who has
experience in several public commissions. Her sculpture
has been exhibited widely over the past ten
years.
Manka + Manne + Mcneel Collaboration:
Stephen Manka, Urban Designer, Urban Design
Center of Northeast Ohio
Michael Manne, Architect
Amie McNeel, Chair, Sculpture Department,
Cleveland Institute of Art
Supported by Eric Rutkowski, owner of a design/build
construction company, and
Jim McKnight, Landscape Architect.
This design team has experience in public art and
streetscape elements.
Don Harvey + Carol Hummel
Don Harvey, is an artist with extensive
background in this type of project, and is a founding
member of Cleveland Public Art.
Carol Hummel, is a sculptor skilled in metal
fabrication techniques and metal casting, as well as 13
years experience in the construction industry as
estimator and project manager for Hummel Construction
Company.
