Blue Lunch
is an eight piece band that plays 1950's era
swing and jump blues and Chicago-style blues. The
band was founded by Cleveland Heights resident
Peter London in 1984 and has performed at the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Severance Hall
and numerous other venues throughout the Greater
Cleveland area. We're so sorry to cancel DanceAfrikaDance last week due to unremitting rain ! We're trying to schedule a rain date...we'll let you know next week.

Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission Seeks Nominations for Historic Preservation Awards The Cleveland Heights Landmark Commission is seeking nominations for its first batch of Historic Preservation Awards. Eligible properties are those that have undergone recent exterior and/or interior preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive use, landscape restoration or sympathetic additions. The Landmark Commission will review the nominations and select final award recipients whose properties have retained and preserved the original historic character and features of the property. New additions or alterations that are in keeping with the character of historic homes may also receive awards. Nominations must be received by August 31, 2004. Awards will be presented on September 23, 2004. The Landmark Commission plans to give the awards annually. The Cuyahoga County Department of Development received 59 eligible applications for the first round of Arts & Culture as Economic Development Grants (ACE). The adjudication sessions will be held at the Lakewood Women's Pavilion* on September 2 and 3, 2004. *Located in Lakewood Park at the intersection of Lake Road and Belle Avenue in Lakewood. The open panel meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and will adjourn around 4 p.m. both days. All are invited to participate in a public policy discussion on Friday afternoon.
