Only two days to see this exhibit

"The show isn't up for long because it was squeezed between two previously scheduled art exhibits. But it's valuable nonetheless because it provides a rare, panoramic glimpse of projects that will affect the future character of Lee Road.

Among them are developer Peter Rubin's plans for a complex of ground-floor restaurants and shops, topped by 45 condos at Lee and Meadowbrook roads.

It also includes computer renderings by architects from Studio Techne for a controversial, glass- enclosed bridge connecting the Cleveland Heights- University Heights Public Library at 2345 Lee Road with the former YMCA complex across the street, which will be renovated as a community arts complex.

Also on view in the show is a large drawing on tracing paper on which members of FutureHeights have suggested locations where vacant lots should be filled with offices, shops and apartments - and even where houses should be removed behind retail shops to provide more parking.

In another part of the exhibit, residents are invited to sketch their own ideas atop a blank sheet of tracing paper placed over a large aerial photograph of Lee Road. "
