Artist Kristin Bly-Rogers will be conducting a series of
Sunday afternoon craft workshops which will be the
basis of an installation at the gallery through April 11.
The reception is free and open to the public.
At
the
opening, guests can meet the artist, obtain more
details about the forthcoming workshops, and register
to attend.

Sunday workshops will take place 12:00 - 6:00PM on
the following dates:
March 14 Rags to Stitches: scrap material
sewn into fashion accessories, cuddly creatures,
fantastic throw pillows, and much more
March 21 Bead Bonanza: sparkling jewelry and
knick-knacks made from beadwork
March 28 Stack-it: using found objects and
thrift store treasures to make candy dishes and
lamps
April 4 Waxing Practical: casting wax and
paraffin for beautiful aromatic candles
Workshop participants will be limited to 15 people, but
the viewing public is welcome to stop by during these
times to experience the performative aspect of this
interactive installation.
Some tools and material
will be
available at the gallery for each seminar, however
participants will be asked to supply additional materials
for their individual creations. A material list and
additional details for each workshop are available on
the newsense website. Since space is limited, advance
registration for the workshops is strongly encouraged.

With their soaring sibling harmonies, the three Sullivan
sisters, Peggy, Teri, and Kathy, weave melodies around
the soulful flute of the family patriarch, acclaimed tenor
sax legend, Buddy Sullivan. The Oh! Sullivans
play original folk music, traditional Irish tunes, and
spiritually uplifting songs that feature the guitar, fiddle,
drums, bodhran, mandolin, flute and saxophone.

This drama explores the conflicts in three generations,
including that between mother and daughter, while
weighing the impact of the arts on relationships.
Returning to the Dobama stage in the role of Esme is
Catherine Albers, known for her critically-acclaimed
performance in Wit at Dobama in 2000.
Set in 1979. Esme Allen (Catherine Albers) is a well-
known West End actress at just the moment when the
West End is ceasing to offer actors a regular way of
life. The visit of her young daughter, Amy (Derdriu
Ring), with a new boyfriend (Todd Krispinsky) sets in
train a series of events which only find their shape
sixteen years later.
