Jazz Nite
Heights High
May 13 at 8 p.m. $4 at the door (a bargain !)

Every member of the Cleveland Heights High School Jazz Ensemble, including director Brett Baker, received an Outstanding Musicianship Award from the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) on Friday, April 22 after the group's performance at the Tri-C JazzFest. The group received this coveted recognition from the JazzFest artists/clinicians, Joe Hunter*, Ted Nash and Steve Enos.
Members of the ensemble include: Adam Gilbert (alto/tenor sax), Nathan Davis (alto sax), Tim McDonald (alto/tenor sax, clarinet), Jason Cooley (tenor sax), Jason Kelsee (baritone sax), Eric Brandt, Ethan Farris, Eric Koenig, Kevin Coburn, Kamal Khalfoun (trumpets), John Hoffman, Max Wertheim, Jonathan Johnson, Matt Urminski (trombones), Jacob Bergson (piano), Abie Klein-Stefanchik (bass), and Mickey Bowen (drums).

*Joe Hunter is a CHHS grad and former member of the Jazz Band-see him at Nighttown on Wednesday nights
