Julie Langsam and Charlotte Becket: Heaven is a Place Where Nothing Ever Happens
Paintings and Sculpture

These two artists look back on the 20th century modernism with 21st century understanding. Langsam's paintings set minimalist sculptures against modernism's "other", the romantic landscape. Becket's work recycles the modernist credo of form- follows-function to give life to the detritus and frenetic energy that had long been swept under the modernist rug. Together, their works explode conventional interpretations of landscape and the machine age.
