The art is flying off the walls, but there's always more coming in from the Heights creative community !

Prints, photography, paintings, collage, glass, wood, ceramics, fiber, books, music, calendars, cards, ornaments-you always find something you want to keep, or give away, for the holidaze at Heights Arts annual Holiday Store.

If you want to nurture the arts in your neighborhood, what better way than to support your neighbors who are artists.

Eat at your favorite Heights eatery, catch a movie at the Cedar Lee, and shop locally !

Heights Arts at the Library
BOOM bench and tree

We're open at the Heights Library daily 1 to 5, except Mondays.

Antique Print Sale
Botanicals, Harper's Weekly, and many intriguing and interesting antique prints from Vixseboxse Art Galleries on sale at affordable prices to benefit Heights Arts.

Open Spaces, the art of Cathie Bleck
If you haven't yet seen this exhibit, do stop in to see Bleck's remarkable drawings. Her book, autographed, is a wonderful remembrance of experiencing her original work at the gallery ($40 plus tax.) Prints are also available for purchase.

Boom Bench
When we opened the library space in September we had no furniture so we called Boom to see if they could lend us something. Michael Edwards walked in the next day with the perfect orange bench, from the Kresge Museum in Ann Arbor. The next day, one of our patrons came in, loved it, and suggested that we buy it for ourselves because it looks so perfect. Well, if we had the money we'd probably buy something practical like storage cabinets or a computer. So she and her husband started a fund and the bench is OURS ! Next time you're at Heights Arts at the Library check out the Mies van der Rohe chairs (for sale) that Boom lent us.
(Boom is in the Rockefeller Building at Mayfield and Lee.)

Hummel Grove of Trees
Our next call was to Carol Hummel, whose Tree Cozy is in front of City Hall. She had, in storage, saplings in cozies that look perfect in the atrium. If you are coveting one and don't have the time to knit a cozy for your saplings, they are for sale too ! And no watering or pruning necessary, the perfect indoor tree.
