After School Art Class: Explore Art, ages 8-12
Wednesdays 4-6 pm (6 weeks): November 8-December 20 (no class Nov.22)
Tuition $72 ($65 Heights Arts members)

Students will be inspired to create original works of art while utilizing the Heights Library’s wonderful collection of Art and Art History books. Through drawing and painting, students will further develop their skills. The elements of art (line, shape, pattern, color, space, and texture) will be reinforced as the children create their own masterpieces.

Adult Watercolor Class
Sundays 2-5 pm (6 weeks): November 12-December 17
Tuition: $108 ($98 Heights Arts members)

For beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Subjects to be painted from life will include still life, botanical subjects and the human figure (no photographs). A brief 20 to 25-minute demonstration each class will introduce students to the important issues related to visual perception, composition, handling of the paint, and color mixing. Students will be encouraged to work in a spontaneous, painterly manner. The primary emphasis will be on understanding paint as a constructive medium and thinking of color as a means of establishing visual relationships, with particular attention to how colors can convey a sense of light and space. Detailed supply list provided with registration.

Sharon E. Gregor coordinated the effort that placed 81 Rockefeller homes on the National Register of Historic Places. She is a founder of the Forest Hill Historic Preservation Society and served as its first president. Gregor most recently served as chairperson of the City of East Cleveland's Historic Preservation Board.

Forest Hill: The Rockefeller Estate unveils the story of the estate, how it evolved and changed over the years, and how its legacy continues.

From the court of Henry VIII through the 17th century, Fretwork highlights works by such prominent Jewish composers as members of the Bassano and Lupo families. Fantasias, dances, and airs performed on violas da gamba by Wendy Gillespie, Asako Morikawa, Richard Boothby, Richard Campbell, and Richard Tunnicliffe.

Volunteer Opportunity
The Shared Governance Team for the Mosaic Experience, one of the Small Schools at Heights High, invites you to join them in creating new projects for the Mosaic Experience students. The Shared Governance Team is made up of Mosaic parents, teachers, students, as well as community members all working together to enrich the educational opportunities available to students especially in the visual and performing arts and technology.
