Weems as the third
Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate. Meet her

Heights Writes of Spring, a
free National
Poetry Month extravaganza

Weems will be appointed by Mayor

Monday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Cleveland Heights City Hall, 40 Severance
Circle, Cleveland Heights.
Both she and the outgoing Poet Laureate,
Loren
Weiss, will present a poem.
Mary Weems is a seasoned poet, performer, and
educator. She respects the value of
poetry as a fundamental art form, and brings
copious experience as a public speaker
and a deep appreciation of the role of the
poet in the community to her tenure as
Poet Laureate. Heights Arts welcomes her
strong presence and impressive credentials
as Dr. Weems begins her term as the third
Poet Laureate of Cleveland Heights.

Pritchard will give an illustrated talk
about her new book ,
published by
Ohio University Press. It traces the
emergence of the art quilt as a medium and
shows the central role Ohio artists
played in its creation. The book will be
available for purchase and signing.
