Utrecht Art Supplies is proud to present Your Work '08, an art show featuring the works of artists of the Greater Cleveland area.  The artwork will remain up for view during normal store hours until July 13.

"We started this group art show last year, because we were curious about all of the projects that our customers have been producing.  We often never see their finished piece, so this was a way to invite them in to share their artwork with the community," said Maureen Ryan, store manager of Utrecht.  Artwork will be accepted through June 20th.  Please call Utrecht at (216)-371-3500 for submission guidelines before bringing your work into the store.

Last year's show attracted about 200 people for the opening reception with almost 70 pieces on exhibit and offered over $300 in awards.  The evening was a great way for artists to meet their fellow artists, and for the artists to meet those who had an interest in purchasing artwork.

This year, not only will there be artwork, artist awards, live music, and lots of food, there will be an auction which benefits Heights Arts.  "We felt that this was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the artist community that has supported us over the years," said Ryan.  Many local businesses have donated items and gift certificates to be auction live during the event to benefit this worthwhile non-profit organization.  Businesses that have donated include Cleveland Film Society, Pentagon Gallery, Trattoria Roman Gardens, Chief's Auto Wash, Bodega, Fast Eddy's Chop Shop, MOCA, Phoenix Coffee, Sunshine Too, Mint Café, Cleveland Glass & Mirror, and Coventry Clay Co-Op.  Artists have also be generous and have donated larger works to be auctioned, including Steve Cagan, Kathy Skerrit, and Jose Estrada.

It's that time of year again...we're writing a final report for the Ohio Arts Council, which awarded Heights Arts a $7064 Sustainability Grant in the past year for operating support.

They want to know:

Based on feedback from patrons, board members and volunteers, what motivates them to participate in your organization? What benefits do they enjoy as a result of the experiences you provide?

Based on a first-hand account you have received, give an example of how your programming has made an impact on an individual participant or the community as a whole.

Help us write this final report!
Muse about your experience with Heights Arts karma and programs, then
email your thoughts to heightsarts@heightsarts.org
