CONCERT FOUR: Double Feature: Concert and Home Tour

PROGRAM

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) Sonata for Violin and Cello

Chris Auerbach Brown (b. 1970) Constellation #1 “The Violin”

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) Clarinet Quintet op. 115 in B-minor

 

Your choice: Come for the concert only or come early for a home-owner’s tour of all four floors of this freshly restored mansion and stay for the concert. The concert in the Salon features Maurice Ravel’s effervescent Sonata for Violin and Cello. Local composing talent Chris Auerbach-Brown’s ‘Constellation #1’ for solo violin will be followed by one of Johannes Brahms’ last compositions: a loving tribute to life and friendship for clarinet and strings.

This double-feature afternoon is a fitting Finale to our 13th Season, presented by the wonderful arts organization that keeps going and growing, Heights Arts.

Season subscriptions, as well as individual concert tickets are available for purchase at Heights Arts, 2175 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, via phone at 216-371-3457, or online beginning September 14, 2018. We are pleased to offer reduced-price tickets for students ages 8-23, thanks to generous funding from the Paul M. Angell Foundation. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (who also qualifies for the student ticket price).

Most concert venues are wheelchair accessible. Directions for concerts at private residences are mailed a week in advance. Advance ticket purchase is necessary as seating is limited, and Close Encounters concerts have a tradition of selling out.

Individual Concerts $55 | $45 Heights Arts members | $15 Student (additional $15 parent)
