For decades, Catherine Butler’s spunky curiosities have been bringing delight to those they adorn and spicing up people’s lives and interactions. A Cleveland native, Butler earned her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1981. Her work can be found in the collections of the Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin, the Ohio Craft Museum and in the Danner Foundation’s Die Neue Sammlung, which is permanently housed in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Germany. Butler is also the recipient of two Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowships.
In addition to making her work, Catherine has taught classes and workshops at all levels, from young children to undergraduate students at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She continues to give workshops at a variety of venues and currently teaches art at Laurel School in Shaker Heights.
