William Mahon

Mahon’s papermaking interest, which stemmed from participant in an afternoon workshop some 15 years ago, has evolved in to a personal avocation. He adds objects from nature and printed materials to a pulp made from cotton and abaca fibers. Varied mixtures yield an assortment of handmade papers. The homemade sheets serve as foundations for a variety of functional and decorative designs, including stationary, custom note cards, ornaments, framed sheets, small picture frames and integrated collage constructions.

Bill Mahon graduated in 1988 from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning with a degree in Industrial Design. He worked as a designer in New York, San Francisco and Cleveland for interior, stage and retail design firms. He lives in Columbus and is currently an exhibit designer and production manager.
