Master Class in Violin

Cara Tweed Master Class ViolinSunday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.

Cara Tweed, violin faculty at The Music Settlement, Cleveland State University, and Laurel School Music Academy, will lead a master class performance on Sunday, February 21 in the Heights Arts gallery. Master classes are free and open to the public for observation. Each features students who perform with excellence within various levels, and have been recommended by their teachers.

Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to apply for all master class sessions; applicants must be recommended by their music teacher  in addition to the online form below for consideration by February 7, 2016.

Participating students and one parent (if under 18) are given complimentary tickets to an upcoming Heights Arts’ Close Encounters chamber music concert.

ABOUT MS. TWEED

Cara Tweed is a co-founder of Music Outreach Collaborative, a non-profit organization that provides musical programming to under-served populations. She holds degrees in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Cleveland State University. Currently, she is a faculty member at Laurel School in Shaker Heights, where she teaches middle school music and directs the school’s music academy.

Ms. Tweed is a member of Almeda Trio, as well as the new music ensemble, No Exit. Influential teachers include Paul Kantor and David Updegraff.
