Lynne Norwood Lofton www.lynnelofton.com Lynne has been a studio potter for over 38 years, working in a variety of clays, techniques, and firing methods. She is currently hand building the whimsical nostalgic earthenware sculptural pieces which are glaze fired in an oxidation atmosphere at cone 04. For the past 19 years, her studio (TerraVista Studios) has been in an old warehouse in the located in the St. Clair/Superior neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. She exhibits and sells her work through numerous galleries and art fairs in the Midwest, and is published in 500 Vases (2010), and The Best of 500 Vases (2012) by Lark Books.

Lynne Norwood Lofton was born in Chicago, IL and raised in the western suburb of Downers Grove. She graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois in 1969. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education, certified K-12, with areas of concentration in ceramics, printmaking, and fiber. She also completed three years of intensive study at the Cleveland Institute of Art, as a student in the Ceramics program. In addition to creating in her studio, Lofton teaches a Continuing Education ceramics class at the Cleveland Institute of Art. In her spare time, Lofton is a bagpiper in the North Coast Pipe Band, and teaches bagpipe lessons.
