The City of Cleveland Heights and Heights Arts formally welcomes its 2016-18 poet laureate, Christine Howey, and recognizes the service of 7th poet laureate Meredith Holmes at a ceremony in Cleveland Heights City Hall on Monday, April 18. A long term resident of Cleveland Heights, Christine is a celebrated playwright, actor, and director, in addition to her passion as a performance poet. As she begins her term of office this April (National Poetry Month), Christine will be directing two one act plays she imported from the New York Fringe Festival, at Blank Canvas Theater, in the 78^th Street Studios building on Cleveland’s west side.
