ARTIST OF THE MONTH- LITERARY

MAY ARTIST OF THE MONTH- LITERARY

KISHA NICOLE FOSTER

Kisha Nicole Foster is a mother, nationally performing poet, and teaching artist. Foster is Director of Special Programs for Twelve Literary Arts; she leads workshops at Literary Cleveland and works with Lake Erie Ink. The author of two books (Poems: 1999-2014 and Blood Work), Foster is also three time Ohio for the Center for the Book fellow as well as a two time Pink Door Fellow.

Poetry is a language of clarity for Foster, as she had issues with expressing her emotions as a teenager. Today, she uses her locution as a conduit towards healing and going through good, bad and ugly seasons of life with a smile. Foster was born in Germany, raised in both Cleveland and New Jersey, graduated from CMSD and attended Cleveland State University. Her greatest accomplishments are surviving the birth and death of her baby boy, Elijah; and now raising her baby girl, Love Jones.
