ABOUT THE WORK
There are pieces from three different bodies of work that will be a part of the exhibition, the first being the Everywhere is Cleveland series, which responds to the Tennessee Williams quote, “The United States has three great cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans, everywhere else is Cleveland”. The series is a response to this generalized attitude, and seeks to expose different parts of the culturally rich, often misunderstood, and diverse city. There are also several works from a new series, Letters from Inside, in which I illustrated poems and stories written by those incarcerated or on death row. The remaining works on display are from various commissioned editorial assignments over the last 2 years. All of the work is done using traditional printmaking combined with graphite/drawing and digital materials.
