September Artist of the Month- Visual: Coretta Kutash
In 1978 Coretta settled in Cleveland Heights, a transplant from the west side, originally from North Olmsted. After 35 years designing greeting cards, she retired from American Greetings about 13 years ago. Now she am designs “wearable art” bags, using Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape. Then she moved to a software program that allows her to “digitize” the designs. Those are transferred via USB into an embroidery machine. Coretta enjoys watching the designs translate into stitches! Some of the bags have hand-painted backgrounds, but they are all washable, and very sturdy.
