SPOTLIGHT: Jennifer Leach

Printmaking has been integral to Jennifer’s 25+ year career as a designer and artist. She earned a BFA from Kent State University in Graphic Design and Illustration in 1987 and worked as a designer at several Cleveland graphic design and advertising firms before starting her own business creating books, annual reports, and other printed materials for Cleveland area businesses and non-profits. She published illustrations in the Plain Dealer and Northern Ohio Live magazine on an ongoing basis in addition to corporate and children’s publications, using relief mainly printmaking techniques as her medium.
In 2010 Jennifer received a Post Baccalaureate K-12 Visual Art degree from Cleveland State University. She taught art in a number of Cleveland area school systems including Shaker Heights, Orange, Bedford, and Cleveland.
Jennifer is currently focusing on printmaking as art. Her work has been accepted into juried gallery shows including the  Manhattan Graphic Center in NYC, Erie Art Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, Morgan Conservatory, and the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve. She serves on the Board of the Print Club of Cleveland, a friends group of the Cleveland Museum of Art and is a member of the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, Zygote Press, and the Morgan Conservatory. She was recently accepted by jury into the Society of American Graphic Artists, a NYC-based artist-run organization exhibiting and supporting print artists since 1915.

Currently Jennifer lives and works in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with her husband Ray. They have two daughters, Hannah and Audrey.
