Open Call for Musicians 

If you are a professional ensemble of any genre in Northeast Ohio, we welcome your application to perform in the Heights Arts Gallery Concert or ARTbar series.

Application Guidelines

Please review carefully to ensure your application can be reviewed by our Music Community Team.

Groups must:

–   Be made up of at least 50% musicians who live in NE Ohio

–   Be between 2-6 members. Solo acts and groups of 7 or more will not be considered. 

–   Provide links to recent examples of the group’s music.

–   Have availability on Thursday or Saturday evenings.

–   Be willing to collaborate with Heights Arts to promote the event, and communicate in a timely manner to arrange the details of their performance.

The application deadline for each music season (September – August) is June 30.

Applications received after that time will be considered for the following year.

About our Concert Series

ARTbar

ARTbar is a ticketed series that mixes live jazz or world music, (and sometimes poetry), and ARTinis, where attendees can enjoy an evening of celebrated dynamic performers and curated cocktails.

•  Performers will be asked to present a 90 minute program (two 45 minute sets with a 5-10 min break)
•  ARTbar performances may include poetry readings in intervals between pieces. Performers can choose whether they’re open to sharing the stage with a poet to help create this unique, collaborative experience.
• ARTbar features club seating of high and low two-top tables for up to 40 people. Drinks and light snacks are served before and during the performance.

Gallery Concerts

This series provides paid opportunities for local musicians of diverse musical genres to perform in our gallery space. All performances are free to the public.

• Applicants must submit a proposed program lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. An intermission may be included, depending on the length and style of the performance
• Gallery concerts accommodate 40 to 50 audience members, depending on the space configuration the day of the performance. Drinks are available before the concert and during intermission.

General Information

• Acoustic performances work best in our space.
• Heights Arts pays $500 per group for either series. Audiences are 40 people max for ARTbar and up to 50 for audience seating.
• We welcome musicians to bring CD’s or other promotional items for sale before or after the performance, using their own sales platform. Heights Arts does not take a commission for these sales.
• Performers and ensembles must help promote the events by reaching out through their own promotional channels (social media, email, etc).
