Call for Artists: Cedar Lee Mural Project
project Overview
Heights Arts and LAND studio, in partnership with the Cedar Lee neighborhood, invite artists to submit qualifications for the creation of 4–6 murals throughout the Cedar Lee District in Cleveland Heights. One artist will be selected for each mural and paired with a participating building owner to develop a site-specific artwork.
These murals will celebrate and enhance the arts and culture that define the Cedar Lee neighborhood, reinforcing Cleveland Heights’ reputation as a vibrant, creative community, and home of the arts.
Project Intent
Selected artists will create original, site-specific murals that:
- Enhance the building façade and contribute to a distinctive, welcoming experience for residents and visitors.
- Reflect the character and energy of the Cedar Lee neighborhood.
- Are vibrant, imaginative, and accessible to a broad audience.
- Are original works created specifically for this project.
Timeline
- Information Session: Wednesday, November 12, 2025 – Cleveland Heights Library; Lee Road
- Submission Deadline: by 11:59p Wednesday, December 3, 2025
- Artist Selection Notifications: By End of January 2026
- Mural Completion: Summer 2026
Eligibility
- Open to professional artists 18 years or older.
- No prior mural experience is required. However, priority will be given to artists with prior mural experience.
- Artists do not need to be residents of Cleveland Heights but must reside in Northeast Ohio and demonstrate a meaningful connection to Cleveland Heights —through work, school, family, recreation, or other ties.
