Marjorie Falk

Marjorie Falk has degrees in Art History, Printmaking and is Nationally Board Certified in Art Education. Her entire career has been focused on the making and studying about art , teaching about art and artists, and now as docent at The Cleveland Museum of Art. Around 15 years ago she took a class on fused glass and the dye was set. Marjorie now creates her landscapes, portraits, collages, and abstract paintings into glass. Because of her keen interest in the history of art Falk begins each piece by finding aspects of an artist’s work that inspires her and then puts a contemporary spin on it. Marjorie then selects large sheets of colored glass ,cuts and layers them to create a design, always letting her creative juices flow. The glass is fired in her kiln to around 1500 degrees and fuses together. She then adds more glass and often fires them several times to add a 3D effect and texture.
