Jacqueline Miller

Jackie Miller was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended college at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. where she studied Biology and Studio Art. She attended graduate school at the University of Chicago and later received an M.D. from CWRU School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. Remaining in Cleveland, she went on to train in Psychiatry at University Hospitals and Psychoanalysis at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center.
She first encountered clay over 20 years ago at Orange Art Center and continued her studies as a Special Student in the ceramics department at the Cleveland Institute of Art under Bill Brouillard and Judith Soloman. Additional influential workshops took place at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg, TN with Kathy King and The Summer Intensive at Alfred University in Alfred, NY.
After retiring from her Psychiatric and Psychoanalytic practice, she set up a ceramic studio at her home. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows both nationally and locally. An example of her translucent porcelain work was published in Surface Design for Ceramics by Maureen Mills.
