Julie Sheil is a self-taught artist residing in University Heights, Ohio. Her art practice began in 2020 as self-directed therapy while recovering from a disabling injuries sustained in a car accident.

Although primarily an abstract painter, Julie expresses her creativity through diversely. Her complete body of work includes abstract collage and mixed media, eco printing, and fiber arts in the form of handwoven baskets, bowls, and trays.

Julie has exhibited in over three dozen juried group exhibitions in Northeast Ohio where her work has twice been awarded second place in her category. In addition to exhibiting her work, Julie has participated in several juried art fairs and vendor events. Locally, Julie’s work can be found at The Wine Spot, Valley Art Shop, and Peninsula Art Academy.

Julie is an active member of Heights Arts, Valley Art Center, and Cuyahoga Valley Art Center. She also teaches handwoven basket workshops at Lakewood Art Supply.
