One day when I was 6 years old, I was lying on a mound of dirt in my backyard, feeling the sun on my back and watching the grass wave in front of my eyes. Somehow I became one with the universe. I was a part of all things and all things were a part of me. Additionally there was an overwhelming feeling of an all-encompassing love. Trying to recreate those feelings as an adult, I first explored theatre(BFA) and then psychology (MA). But, I ultimately realized that creating art is what connects me to universal spirit energy. During 4 years in art school and now as a professional artist, I have continued to use the power of color and of mark-making to capture the spirit energy that is in all things animate and inanimate. My goal is to have those who view my work to not only see spirit energy but also to feel it.
