Maureen Magner-Sylak

retired teacher and forever artist
Painting is a soulful expedition for me, as my subjects tend to be what (or who) I love. I use inner vision to reconcile realism in an impressionistic style. My intention is to convey a spiritual presence that celebrates my subject.
I have refined my artistic skills through classes at Fairmount Center for the Arts, The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Cleveland Institute of Art, Valley Arts and The Cleveland Botanical Gardens. As a result, I have exhibited my work with other artists at Mayfield on the Greens, the Mayfield Community Center, Fairmount Center for the Arts, Valley Arts, Heights Arts, Artful at Coventry Peace Campus, The Artists’ Archives of the Western Reserve, Judson Retirement Community, The Cleveland Botanical Gardens and at the Feinberg Gallery at Cain Park. It is my intention to never stop learning from the art community, despite becoming legally blind from retinitis pigmentosa.
