Sydney Givens

Sydney Givens is a sculptor of wearable art. Her jewelry career began when she was 15 and working for Diane Wilson, a porcelain jeweler living in Pittsburgh. Continuing her education, she enrolled in the Jewelry + Metals BFA program at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Her work compares and contrasts ideologies, represented by different materials, to speak to the complexity of contemporary life. She has received multiple institutional scholarships and awards, including the Mary C. Page Memorial Traveling Scholarship, and she has exhibited pieces in shows such as the Student Independent Exhibition and Good Things, Small Packages. In addition, she was a co-chair of the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Galvanize Runway Show and Student Holiday Sale. She teaches continuing education jewelry classes for young adults at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
