Valerie was first introduced to metalsmithing in an elective course taken at Baldwin-Wallace in 1999. However, it wasn’t until several years later in 2006 that she decided to pursue jewelry design more seriously and began her business. She’s been primarily self-taught, spending hours in experimentation
to develop new techniques. Valerie creates each and every piece personally by hand using primarily sterling silver but also incorporating gold, and alternative metals like brass and bronze. While her jewelry often has several style themes, there is a common thread in her work though that relates to her interest in all things modern. She places emphasis on geometric and linear forms, clean lines, minimalism and simplicity.
