Opportunities for Visual Artists at Heights Arts

Heights Arts invites Northeast Ohio artists and curators to showcase and sell their work through exhibitions, special projects, and our gallery store.

 

Exhibit or Curate
We present five group and five solo (Spotlight) exhibitions annually and accept proposals from individual artists, groups, and guest curators year-round. Proposals are reviewed bi-monthly, with exhibitions scheduled 8–18 months in advance. Artists receive 60% commission on sold work. We use a rolling submission model, alongside occasional calls for entry, to streamline placement and response times. Proposals are reviewed bi-monthly by our Exhibition Community Team, and scheduling typically occurs 8–18 months in advance.

 

Sell in Our Gallery Store
Our year-round gallery store showcases hand-crafted work by local artists, including jewelry, ceramics, prints, glassware, textiles, photographs, and more. We accept submissions from Northeast Ohio artists on a rolling basis, and welcome unique, high-quality pieces across a variety of media.

 

To apply, you’ll need:

• A brief artist statement or proposal
• One-page resume/CV
• Up to 5 images of representative work

Heights Arts is thrilled to present the Bi-Annual Members Show, an exciting exhibition celebrating the varied talents of our 40 members—from working artists to passionate hobbyists. On view from August 15 to October 12, 2025, this showcase highlights the creativity and individuality of our community, offering a diverse collection of works that span a wide range of styles, mediums, and perspectives.

Whether you’re a visual artist, sculptor, photographer, or mixed-media creator, we invite you to submit one piece of artwork to be part of this exhibition. All members are eligible, and this year’s show promises to be a vibrant celebration of local creativity.

Eligibility:

• Open to all current Heights Arts members. Non-members can join at the Working Artist level ($35) to participate.

Submission Rules:

• One work per artist.
• 2D work: No larger than 16 x 20 inches.
• 3D work: No larger than 12 x 12 x 18 inches.
• Work must have been created within the last year.
• All artists must complete the online submission form and upload one image of their work.

Now in its 26th year, the Heights Arts Holiday Store is a seasonal celebration of Northeast Ohio’s vibrant creative community. Featuring unique, handmade gifts by local artists and makers, the store transforms our gallery into a festive shopping destination throughout November and December. We invite visual and literary artists to submit original work for consideration—apply now to be part of this beloved holiday tradition!  

The Heights Arts Holiday Store is a beloved annual tradition celebrating the incredible talent of Northeast Ohio’s visual and literary artists. Now in its 26th year, this seasonal shop transforms our gallery into a festive marketplace from early November through December, offering shoppers a curated selection of unique, handmade gifts.

Located in the heart of the Cedar Lee entertainment district, the Holiday Store features work from over 100 local artists across a wide range of disciplines—ceramics, jewelry, textiles, glass, wood, prints, photographs, artist-made books, and more. All items are sold on a consignment basis, with 60% of each sale going directly to the artist and 40% supporting Heights Arts’ year-round nonprofit programs.

We invite working artists and makers based in Northeast Ohio to apply. Submissions are juried by Heights Arts staff with input from our community advisory teams, and selections are based on quality, originality, and variety.
