Sound and Vision opening reception
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 FROM 6 TO 9 P.M.
Curated by musician, composer, and educator Chris Auerbach-Brown, Heights Arts’ fall exhibition, Sound and Vision, displays a variety of instruments built or owned by local, regional, and national instrument builders and tinkerers. Some designs are more traditional in nature, some are from other parts of the world, some are digital, and others challenge our notions of what musical instruments are in the first place. Hopefully this exhibition will undermine visitors’ assumptions and encourage them to explore music that exists outside of their comfort zone.
The community is invited to join us for an opening reception on Friday, September 1, 6-9 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through October 15.
Ekphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond about works in Sound and Vision on Thursday, September 28, 7 p.m.
Trepanning Trio performs a free community concert on Saturday, October 14, 7 p.m.
