Monique Biggers
Monique is a Cleveland-based abstract visual artist whose work explores intuition through the use of acrylics and unconventional materials and available resources. She draws inspiration from the intersection of personal identity, nature, and community. Monique has showcased her work in exhibitions, including the Shabang Queer Art Show with the Hildebrandt Artist Collective, the Black Arts Showcase in collaboration with the Cleveland Art Museum Community Center, Karamu Theater, and Future Ink Graphics, as well as RedFish Bowl’s Monochromatic exhibit. She has also participated in the Cleveland Photo Festival, further highlighting her versatility and engagement with diverse artistic platforms. In her role with Foluke Cultural Arts, she combines her creative vision with a commitment to community enrichment. She manages general admin and programing that engage underserved groups in Cleveland specifically the Central neighborhood. Additionally, she has worked as an exhibit assistant at SPACES, honing her sculpting practice while facilitating large-scale installations.
