Leslye Discont Arian

The Drive By Landscapes were created during the long isolating months of Covid. For a year, I took long solo road trips to connect with nature. The works represent elements of the natural and spiritual world. I did not use a camera to record any images. I mixed colors, studied light and shapes in my mind’s eye. I consider my works drawings as the works are done with oil sticks, I use only my fingers to blend and push the colors and create textures. I feel gratitude when I achieve balance of the familiar and unfamiliar, allowing me complete freedom from the material world.
