I’m Gabrielle “Gabs” Rataiczak from Canton, OH. Painting and drawing have been the one consistent passion, as well as skateboarding, for me. Both go hand in hand and I’ve combined the two by taking old skate photographs and creating them in a different way, but staying true to who I’m representing. My dad is a very creative person who is the reason I kept making art. He taught me about charcoal and various materials, but I have gravitated more towards acrylic. Faces are something that I admire. The way no one looks exactly alike, the way we have lines in our face and I enjoy bringing those out in paintings because it’s a part of us and should be shared and never hidden. Faces can tell a story and it’s been a fun project to keep evolving and see where else it may take me. I also enjoy a variety of subjects to keep challenging the way I create even a single coffee mug.
