J. Allon Hall resides on the West side of Cleveland where he creates his landscapes and still life’s in his studio. He paints directly on his canvas tinted with a light wash of sienna brown. This gives the canvas an earthy ground to develop his landscapes. His compositions are inspired from his travels across the U.S. and abroad. Deep wooded forests in South Dakota with streams and rivers cutting through them. Grassy hills and mountains in Yellowstone National Park or monumental cliff sides of red, Yellow and grey stones in the Grand Canyon peppered with green trees and shrubs. But the sky always plays the crucial role defining the drama and grandeur for each of his paintings.
