Nancy Halbrooks

Nancy Halbrooks retired from teaching art at Lorain County Community College in 2019.
where she received the honor of being a Professor Emeritas.
Shortly before she retired she started taking workshops at the Morgan Paper Conservatory where she discovered
marbling and French Cartonnage (box making). When Nancy found it difficult painting and drawing during Covid she turned to the practice of box making. And has not stopped. At the same time she started to marble papers in her home studio. The two practices combined blend beautifully.
She was an Artist in Residence at the Morgan in 2022 for marbling and box making. Nancy has a long exhibition history in the Ohio area as well as in the Pacific Northwest where she went to University of Washington for an MFA.
Nancy lives in the Larchmere neighborhood of Cleveland with her wife their dog Luna and three cats, Sam, Pi and Caesar.
