Shaker Heights Native Laura Kushnick Wiegand was a passionate potter in her youth, getting her start at Cleveland Potters Co-Op and apprenticing with potter Sheila Tarshis. As a pandemic gift to herself (after an unintentional 25-year hiatus from ceramics) Laura bought a wheel and some tools and set up a little space to work at home. As throwing pots began to feel natural again and her work space became a beloved and productive retreat, this little ceramic studio became her “Thrown Room.”
