ABOUT THE WORK
There are pieces from three different bodies of work on display, the first being the
Everywhere is Cleveland series, which responds to the Tennessee Williams quote, “The
United States has three great cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans,
everywhere else is Cleveland”. The series is a response to this generalized attitude, and
seeks to expose different parts of the culturally rich, often misunderstood, and diverse
city. There are also several works from a new series, Letters from Inside, in which I
illustrated poems and stories written by those incarcerated or on death row. The
remaining works on display are from various commissioned editorial assignments over
the last 2 years. All of the work is done using traditional printmaking combined with
graphite/drawing and digital materials.
