Flash Nonfiction Festival

Join Literary Cleveland and Brevity virtually online for their second November Flash Nonfiction Festival November 13-19. Over the course of seven days, you will work with some of the best flash nonfiction writers and editors in the country to draft new pieces, advance your craft, share your work, and learn where and how to publish.

Whether you write flash nonfiction or not, this festival is a great way to create new work and improve your skills in the company of nationally-renowned writers and editors.

Zoë Bossiere: managing editor of Brevity: A Journal of Concise Literary Nonfiction and the co-editor of its anthology, The Best of Brevity.

Daisy Hernández: author of The Kissing Bug: A True Story of an Insect, a Family and a Nation’s Neglect of a Deadly Disease and the award-winning memoir A Cup of Water Under My Bed. ‍

Davon Loeb: author of the memoir The In-Betweens (West Virginia University Press, 2023) and an assistant features editor at The Rumpus.

Michael Martone: author of a dozen books of short fiction and four collections of essays including The Flatness and Other Landscapes and has edited 4 anthologies of nonfiction including Townships.

Ander Monson: author of eight previous books, including PREDATOR: A Memoir, a Movie, an Obsession, and editor of DIAGRAM.

Dinty W. Moore: author of several books including Crafting the Personal Essay and Dear Mr. Essay Writer Guy, and editor-in-chief of Brevity.

Joy Sullivan: widely published poet and writer, former poet-in-residence for the Wexner Center for the Arts, and creator/director of Sustenance: A creative community designed to revitalize your writing practice.
