Jess Bennett
Inspired by an appreciation for all things pop art and pop culture, printmaker Jess Bennett (AKA Letterpress Jess) continues the historic tradition of letterpress printmaking from her Canton, Ohio print shop. In 2013, Bennett rescued a 2,500 pound cast iron printing press, affectionately known as “Big Sal,” from the scrap heap. Today, she utilizes a mix of vintage type and cuts alongside modern photopolymer plates to take her designs from the computer to the printed product, including greeting cards and art prints. Bennett has participated in group and juried shows and maker markets throughout Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Illinois and her goods are available in more than 250 shops around the country. She attended Walsh University and graduated with a bachelor’s in English and corporate communications. She is a self-taught and award-winning graphic and web designer. In addition to Letterpress Jess, she and her husband run Jab Advertising, an agency dedicated to smart marketing for businesses of all sizes.
