Tom Ream

My interest in woodworking started in the 9th grade. While touring the school’s wood shop, a bowl had exploded while being turned on a wood lathe. From that point forward my curiosity was piqued on the potential power and capability behind a wood lathe. My first real experience with using a lathe came years later while working in a boat yard in Ft Lauderdale. A friend was sailing off and gave me his lathe to use while absent. Through trial and error and experimentation over the years I developed an appreciation for the beauty that is already inside each piece of wood. My goal is to find the best way to let that beauty find its way out for us to see. My pieces can be used as functional vessels or just to look at.
