SPOTLIGHT: Paula Zinsmeister
September 14–October 28, 2018
opening reception Friday, September 14, 6 – 9 pm
As an artist, I have always been attracted to the linear quality found in natural forms. Over the past year I have found myself focusing on the beauty of the variety of grasses in Northeast Ohio. The differences are subtle and are reflected in slight variations in color, texture, height, flexibility and structure. They are all beautiful in their own right. This exhibit consists of my portrayal of plants and grasses using a variety of printmaking techniques and papers. The techniques include ink and watercolor monotype, paper lithography, dry point, and intaglio. I tend to work intuitively where each added element responds to the previous layer to create the finished piece.
