Creative Kinship: Wanderings Through Early and Contemporary Sound

Soprano Naomi Columna and percussionist Katalin La Favre met in 2022 and immediately felt an artistic connection. Both artists fueled by experimentation and creativity, their newest project, Wanderings, explores early music through a contemporary lens.

“Both of us really love collaboration and combining different artistic universes together. This program, Wanderings, allowed us to fuse together very different musical worlds. In this incredibly evocative early repertoire, you will also hear minimalist jams, operatic drama, and other unexpected sounds. During our creative process, we loved letting our imaginations wander freely, wondering how this music might sound through our contemporary perspective of all the music coming after it.
