Cleveland artist Robert Romeo has been producing and showing ceramic sculpture and acrylic painting in this area since 2003. Working out of the St. Clair/Superior Arts district, Romeo’s studio is located in the 1400 Building on East 30th Street, a converted warehouse that formally housed a paperboard factory. For many years, he maintained a solo live/work studio there, but for the last few years has been a member of TerraVista Studios at this same location, a vibrant working ceramics studio housing a group of other local professional artists. Romeo splits his time as both a full-time special education teacher and producing artist. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Studio Arts at Youngstown State University, later pursuing his graduate studies in Art Therapy and Special Education.
