Christopher Owen Smith

Christopher Owen Smith did his academic work at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and Columbus College of Art & Design. Afterward, he spent several months in Soto Zen monastic training in the Japan Alps and a sculptural/ceramic apprenticeship with Kakuho Saito on the coast of the Japan Sea. Following a couple of road and walking trips in the U.S., he anchored in Northeast Ohio and continues to make and exhibit artwork.

Christopher’s Wild Pulp line of archival prints and fine art note cards are inspired through natural rhythms and textures, process and this quote by Natural John Muir: “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.”
